Rainforests, wetlands such as rivers and other wildlife habitats are crucial for the survival of thousands of creatures, plants and insects. Therefore, habitat conservation for wildlife is one of the most important issues facing the invironment today- both in the ocean and on land.
As human population increase, land use increases and wildlife have smaller spaces to call home. More than half of Earth's terrestrial surface has been altered due to human activity, resulting in drastic deforestation, erosion and loss of topsoil, biodiversity loss,and extinction of some wildlife. Preserving habitats is essential to preserving biodiversity. Altering a natural habitat even slightly can result in a domino effect that harms the entire ecosystem. This is because habitats don't exist in isolation; most of them have inputs and outputs connected to other habitats and part of the structure of the ecosystems.
It is the responsibility of everyone to keep the habitats such as our forests, oceans and rivers are healthy and productive.
